At Unhack Democracy, we don’t just defend democracy; we reimagine it. From the ground up. But, at the moment, we’re fighting to survive.

The REWIRE Democracy newsletter is a small part of the work we do at Unhack Democracy…

When we started our organization in 2018, our small European team came together around a simple but urgent belief: democracy needs protecting, and it needs rebuilding to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.

Since then, we’ve worked across Europe to challenge authoritarianism, protect the integrity of elections, mobilise volunteers, and build new civic tools.

From questioning Viktor Orbán’s supermajority in Hungary to running REWIRE Incubator (the project this newsletter shines a light on), we’ve shown that change is possible, even in difficult times.
