In civil society work, resilience isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity. It keeps us grounded, fuels creativity, and sustains our drive for meaningful change. But resilience doesn’t just happen; it’s built through intentional habits.
For this month’s Community Challenge, we’re challenging you to create a personal resilience ritual: a small, consistent habit that brings calm, focus, or joy to your day.
Here’s how to get started:
Understand your needs. What drains you most in your work? What small action helps you recharge?
Choose your ritual. It could be as simple as a 10-minute morning walk, a gratitude list, deep breathing before meetings, or taking time to connect with a colleague or friend.
Be consistent. The power of rituals lies in their repetition. Anchor yours to a daily routine, like starting or ending your workday.
When you prioritize your well-being, you’re not only better equipped to make an impact but also model resilience for your community.
Here are some ritual ideas to get your started:
Start team meetings with a grounding check-in: Have everyone share one thing they’re grateful for or a recent success.
Reflect at the end of the week: Set aside 10 minutes every Friday to review the week or set intentions for the next.
Pause for impact: Before tackling challenges, take a 1-minute pause to prevent reactive decisions.
Walk-and-talk meetings: Take your meetings outside for fresh air, movement, and dynamic conversations.
Mindful breathing: Take three deep breaths before starting a meeting or task to approach it with calm and focus.
💬 What resilience ritual will you choose? Share your ideas or experiences with us in the comments, and inspire others in the REWIRE community to integrate moments of restoration into their daily lives!
Together, we can build a stronger civil society movement.
